Who I Am
I started racing XC around 1995 when NORBA was still around lasting 3 years before I hung up my v-brake equipped hardtail for soccer boots. I began riding again when I moved to Corvallis, OR to attend Oregon State University around 2011. I started out riding again on hardtails and progressively upgraded to more aggressive bikes every year until I started racing downhill and enduro two years ago. I am an incredibly goal oriented person and racing gives me something to strive for. My favorite types of rides are being lost deep out in the backcountry all day or ripping park laps on my big bike until I can’t feel my hands.
One of my first races ever was a NORBA XC race on Mt. Spokane when I was 11. I also spent 2-3 days a week snowboarding there all through my junior high and high schools years, often sneaking beers into the woods during night skiing. Mt. Spokane has a spot in my heart and last year they held the first mtb race on the mountain in almost 20 years. Yes, I will be heading back in June and couldn't be more excited.
